The TV Industry [May. 26th, 2005|02:12 pm]
Reading (via Kitty Killer) about how some TV production companies treat their staff, just reminds me so much of the the Games Industry.

Both are very much 'knowledge work', you are not making widgets, you create ideas and are seen as cool jobs, so don't have a shortage of people who will do anything to get into that type of work, put up with a lot of bad stuff, insanely long hours, bad pay (or no pay).

Makes me glad (that I'm not part of those industries anymore, working sane hours iss so nice) and mad (about the way they take young people and work them until they burn out, then just throw them away).
