I ended up running this at work today while doing some testing. This was the first demo I saw running on an SGI, way back in 1993 on an old power series with VGX graphics
This machine did not even run OpenGL
just IrisGL, at the time this was amazing for me, coming from running ST's and Amigas at home to seeing textured 3D graphics in realtime, was real sci-fi stuff.
Now running the OpenGL port of that code on a modern system,it runs so fast that its uncontrollable. All in ten year or so, from a machine that cost the same as a house to a few hundred pounds PC, I wonder what the cheap home hardware will be doing in ten years time?
