So it took two years but yesterday I had my six month visit to my shrink, and at last he is happy that I'm transsexual, and is happy to refer me to charing cross. All I could think about when he told me was at last, I'd spent the whole day getting increasingly stressed about the appointment.

So I'm one step closer to being fulltime and a very different person to the one who started this LJ, much happier, less stressed, more at ease and with a future.

Re: milestone

Well yes, things move on.

My hair has now grown out to shoulder length, and I've have been getting my eyebrows shaped for a few months now, which made a surprising difference plus the bread removal is now nearer the end than the start, still a few bit that are being a pain but a few more zaps and they will be gone.

One of the big things was just looking in a mirror and not seeing male for the first time, a very nice feeling.

Also another thing I've done that I wish I'd sorted earlier, is seeing a Counsellor, so are least things are sorted in my mind, just waiting for the body to catchup.

I've even lost a little weight, but as ever still more to go, people keep buying me chocolate for some reason.

The whole NHS thing is much less of an issue now and causes me way way less stress. I still want to be on Hormones but well, I think I could get by without then, at least for a time, so they will not stop me going fulltime just make it easier.

For me the trick has been not to try to do too much at the same time, as much as I would like to have everything done by the end of the week, the way my brain is wired up just would not be able to cope, so just pick the next more important thing (this all sound very Getting Things Done, but hey it working alright so far) work on that, then the next, then the next. Sorting my voice is the big thing but I've made a start on that and we will see how that goes.

The more I think about it the more I can see me going fulltime sooner rather than later, how soon, I'm still not sure about but I think it more like a few months than a year.
Hope the everything is going well and you are still producing music.

(well I've only been updating it occasionally. NOTE TOSELF: Stop being lazy and get back in the habit of posting stuff)

Re: The un-anonymous post that got probably got lost earlier...

No just screened to keep the nasty spammer types away.

Good news on the whole "real-life test" thing, fingers crossed for the August date.

On the music front, nice to hear your stuff again (so do you have any more stuff on line?), for some reason after hearing 'acid test' I wanted to listen to my Josh Wink CDs again. Also I guess you've seen the The ReBirth Museum? Also here's a documentary all about the 303, from this metafilter thread.

Re: Next you come to Notts give me a nudge

Will do, looks like that should be 3rd June, as I'm flying out of East Midlands airport on the Monday at some horrible time in the morning to spend two weeks in France.

Re: Next you come to Notts give me a nudge...blah

No problem, I was looking forward to meeting up but well its very good news that you have a date. We can catch up after you have had sometime to recover. I do hope the surgery goes fine and you don't get any problems, best wishes (soft cow mode), see you soonish hopefully.

About the dilating, I didn't think there was much to explain, not that I've given it that much thought.

And I'm sure the first viewing will be fine, its the hospital food you should be worrying about.

Re: impending cock apocalypse...

Bill Hicks quotes are always good (if you have a broadband connection and an hour to spare, this is him in Chicago).

Re: funding mess ups

That quite shocking, after all the other roadblock and delays, that's the one thing you want to go smoothly. and not stress you out.

Will do for the card.

Re: I'm a stress free zone.

Yep, if you've signed the last of the paperwork it all out of your hands now.
