CD ripped [Apr. 1st, 2004|06:56 am]
The CD is now a sitting as uncompressed audio files on my Harddrive. All that was required was to download EAC, install it and then extract the tracks, not really very hard at all.

I'm still not sure if I should return the CD yet. Amazon list it as an Audio CD (I take that to mean the disc uses the Red or Yellow book standards), which this disc does not. A Philips (who control the standard) spokesperson said "Any changes that put a disc outside the CD standard result in a disc that should no longer be described or marketed as a CD.". Anyway I've sent a mail off to Amazon asking them what the policy was of marking 'copy protected' CD's as such.
